The key to a balanced life is to keep things simple. Focus on what is most important and deliver those tasks to the best of your ability, then reward yourself with permission to switch off and enjoy the new-found balance you have created.”

On the endless pursuit to achieve balance, contentment and ultimate happiness, it’s easy to get caught up in expectations for a life bigger and better  – a life that ticks all the boxes. Oftentimes, the harder we try to pursue perfection, the more we lose sight of what’s right for us.

It’s best to remember that it’s the setbacks and hold-ups in life – that we often try so hard to avoid – that actually offer the time and space needed to see what is truly important and what is non-negotiable to live a value-based and well-balanced life.

Use these pauses in life as an opportunity to go slow for a while, confident in the knowledge that these breaks in progress can actually be the greatest gift of all.

Perhaps a renovation plan is getting financially out of hand or a business is moving in the wrong direction. Or maybe there just needs to be more time spent doing
the things that bring joy.

The key to a balanced life is to keep things simple. Focus on what is most important and deliver those tasks to the best of your ability, then reward yourself with permission to switch off and enjoy the new-found balance you have created. Work hard, make time and learn to go with the flow and the ever-elusive life balance will be easier to achieve than you think.
